Lake Irene (RMNP)

This is one of two opportunities I have on this trip to visit Rocky Mountain National Park. Most of these photos are from Lake Irene which is only accessible about three months out of the year. It is located off of Trail Ridge Road in RMNP, west of the Continental Divide, elevation 10,627 feet, (Google Maps: “Lake Irene Colorado”), a few are from Adam’s Falls, right near the West entrance to RMNP at Trail Ridge Road. I was dodging rain showers all day long including some strong t-showers (such a contradiction to the wildfires – please let it rain!) but I liked how it saturated the colors. Started to get some wildlife shots but then the humans started tramping through…. Shhhhhh! It is such a hard concept.
