Normandy Beaches
The last day of the trip involved the D-Day sites on the Normandy Coast. While I am familiar with details regarding the events around D-Day, there is a very sobering effect that seeing it in person creates. We started at Utah Beach which proved to be a good choice as the Utah Beach museum has done an excellent job in capturing the story, facts and artifacts regarding D-Day and the subsequent liberation of Europe.
